Our main goal in this extensive renovation was to invite the natural beauty of Echo Lake into the home. By opening up the lakeside of the house with two pairs of glass doors and transom windows, we greatly expanded the view. The main room was fitted out with bookcases, and the built-in seating with neo-60's overtones was arranged to encompass both the hearth (that enduring symbol of domestic security) and the untamed landscape outside. This is the second house we have designed for this client.
