Architecture has provided me with an outlet for creative problem solving. I enjoy being a part of a design collaboration, where we are presented with a complex program and work as a team to create an elegant solution. From the conception of the parti to the carefully detailed connections, no two projects are ever the same, which allows for a new experience with each new client.

Prior to joining Flavin Architects, Heather gained valuable experience in the execution of design as a Construction Administrator for a general contractor in Boston. Her diverse background of a modern urban focused education and traditional residential professional career has afforded her the opportunity to explore a larger spectrum of design and construction methods.

Heather received her Master of Architecture Degree from the School of Architecture at Northeastern University, graduating magna cum laude in May 2009. She also received her Bachelor’s degree from Northeastern University in 2008, graduating Cum Laude with a minor in History.  Her education continued as a Junior Designer at a small architectural firm in Rhode Island that specializes in custom New England Shingle Style residential projects. She played a supporting role to the lead architect in the design, selection, coordination, and detailing of multiple private residences, skill sets that all contribute greatly to her role as a Senior Designer at Flavin Architects.
